2012: 21- Drained, ashamed, and extremely sick.
If you didn’t know me, you'd only see my surface. We all know I'm talking about my body. I was morbidly obese. I looked lazy, like I just ate all the time. What bothered me most, it looked like I didn’t care.
If you truly knew me - my whole life I played sports, didn’t play video games, didn’t sit around. I was the kid you had to call inside at dark. I also didn’t have an unhealthy relationship with food.
When you're young you don’t understand. Being the fat kid all my life was hard. Being the fat teen and the fat adult was even harder. People can be so cruel. I had spent YEARS trying to get my weight under control. Trying to stay as active as my body would let me. Limiting my portion sizes, etc- didn’t even touch it.
So there I was, six months after my 21st birthday, laying in a hospital bed at 3am. Done. I felt like my body had completely betrayed me.
2012 (260+lbs) 21st Birthday
Well years of struggles and an autoimmune disease later, things start to feel normal again.
My heaviest, somewhere just over 260lbs. Once the digestive issues got more sorted out, I lost the first 70lbs from 'diet' alone. My body wanted rid of it, bad. I started working again. I was feeling more myself than I had in years.
2013: I wanted more. So I walked into a Planet Fitness, and walked out with a membership I couldn’t wait to use. You guys... I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOING. I had some knowledge from playing sports all my life. When it came to WHAT to do... between winging it and Pinterest I got somewhere eventually.
2014: I started to get a real knack for fitness. I loved learning what my body could do, what it was capable of. I also loved the way it made me feel.
2019 (140lbs) I passed my CPT exam.
2018: I had a lot of people asking me how I did it. It's not a short nor easy answer. I decided that I was going to help. I signed up for my Personal Trainer course on Halloween.
2019: I was hired at LA Fitness, where I was promoted to a Master Trainer within three months. I spent my mornings, afternoons, and evenings here for three years. Learning more about my trade and falling absolutely in love with what I get to call “my job.”
2022: I took a leap of pure faith and started my own fitness and personal training business at 31 years old - happy and healthy.
Listen, I know what it’s like to not be able to walk up a flight of stairs, even walk at all because of pain, to not be able to get on the ground, do a sit up, a squat, or even get up off of the couch easily.
I chose to spend my life trying to help every person that doesn’t want to feel that way, because I've been there.

Both my husband and I have been training with Amanda since 2019. We enjoy the workouts she puts together for us as they are both challenging and fun. Sometimes she targets certain muscle groups, and sometimes it’s a full-body workout but it’s always fresh and new and is tailored to our individual needs separately.
